Read the following information carefully and answer Q.No. 1 to 4 given below :
Six friends A, B, C, D, E and F are sitting in a closed circle facing the center. E is to the left of D and C is between A and B. F is between E and A. Then :
Question 1.) Who is on the left of B ?
A.) A
B.) C
C.) E
D.) D
Explanation
When we will solve this given puzzle “Six friends A, B, C, D, E and F are sitting in a closed circle facing the center. E is to the left of D and C is between A and B. F is between E and A.” The sitting arrangement we get is :
How we have come up with that seating arrangement we will try to understand step by step. Lets draw a circle and make six arrow facing inside indicating person sitting in closed circle facing the center. E is to the left of D. You can write D anywhere in that circle and put E to the left of D as shown below.
Then next line says C is between A and B. We will not draw it on our sitting arrangement at this point because we are not able to find any relationship with our main sitting arrangement in respect of position of A, B and C with respect to other friends.
Next line is F is between E and A. Here A can’t be on the right side of D because then F will not be between E and A as given in question. So right arrangement will be F is to the left of E and A will be left to F as shown below :
As given in question C is between A and B. So we will put B to the right of D and C to left of A as shown below and it also satisfy the condition that C is between A and B.
This will be the sitting arrangement of six friends sitting in the circular table facing the center given the conditions of the question.
In Question 1.) it is asked who is on the left of B. We can say D is on the left of B.
Question 2.) Who is on the right of C ?
A.) A
B.) B
C.) E
D.) F
Explanation
C is facing the center of circle so A is sitting right side of C and B is sitting left side of B. Hence the Answer to this question is ‘A’.
Question 3.) Who is on the third left of D ?
A.) A
B.) B
C.) E
D.) C
Explanation
D is facing center so E is on left side of D and B is on the right side of D. So we have to tell who is on the third left of D. E is on immediate left of D, F is on second left of D and A is on third left of D. So the answer to question is : ” A is on third left of D.
Question 4.) Who is sitting between B and C ?
A.) A, D
B.) A
C.) A, E
D.) No one
Explanation
As B and C are immediate neighbour to each other. So no one can be between them. Hence there is No one sitting between B and C.

Question :- Heavier coins are costlier. Ram’s coin is heavier than Mohan’s coin and costlier than Ramesh’s. Naresh’s coin is costlier than Yogesh’s. Ramesh’s coin is costlier than Mohan’s. The owner of the costlier coin is :
A.) Naresh
B.) Ram
C.) Ramesh
D.) Yogesh
Explanation
From the above statement, we can say Ram’s coin is costlier than Mohan’s as well as Ramesh’s coin.
Relation of Naresh’s coin and Yogesh’s coin with respect to Ram’s, Ramesh’s and Mohan’s coin is not given.
As we already know Ram’s coin is costlier than both Ramesh’s and Mohan’s coin. If Ramesh’s Coin is costlier than Monhan’s coin then the order of Ram’s, Mohan’s and Ramesh’s coin would be :
As we have already discussed above the relationship of Yogesh’s and Naresh’s coin is not clear with respect to the coins of Ram, Ramesh and Mohan. So the owner of the costliest coin according to the given option can’t be the Ramesh’s coin and Yogesh’s coin because Ram’s coin is costlier than Ramesh’s coin and Naresh’s coin is costlier than Yogesh’s coin.
As we can’t be sure is Ram’s coin is costlier than Naresh’s coin or vice versa. Answer to this question can be either Ram’s coin or Naresh’s coin.

One of the seven subjects like Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, English and Statistics is taught one day each in the week Starting from Monday and ending on Sunday. Chemistry is taught on Thursday. English is taught the day immediately next to the day When Zoology is taught. English is neither taught on Tuesday nor on Saturday. Only one lecture is held between Chemistry and Botany. Two lectures are scheduled between Mathematics and Zoology. Statistics is neither taught on Monday nor Sunday. Based on this information, answer the following questions :
Q.1) Physics lecture is scheduled on :
A.) Monday
B.) Tuesday
C.) Wednesday
D.) Thursday
Explanation :
According to the given question, there are seven subjects and each one is taught on every day of week starting from Monday and ending on Sunday.
Given that Chemistry is taught on Thursday, which can be shown as below :
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | |
Tuesday | |
Wednesdays | |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | |
Saturday | |
Sunday |
It is also given that English is taught immediately next day when Zoology is taught and also English is neither taught on Tuesday nor on Saturday. We can say from this piece of information when read together that Zoology is not taught on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. So Zoology is taught either on Tuesday or Saturday.
Case 1: If Zoology is taught on Tuesday
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | |
Tuesday | Zoology |
Wednesdays | English |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | |
Saturday | |
Sunday |
Case 2: If Zoology is taught on Saturday
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | |
Tuesday | |
Wednesdays | |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | |
Saturday | Zoology |
Sunday | English |
One lecture is held between Chemistry and Botany. So our schedule according to Case 1 and Case 2 will be as follow :
Case 1
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | |
Tuesday | Zoology |
Wednesdays | English |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | |
Saturday | Botany |
Sunday |
Case 2
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | |
Tuesday | Botany |
Wednesdays | |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | |
Saturday | Zoology |
Sunday | English |
Two lectures are scheduled between Mathematics and Zoology. Our Schedule will be as per Case 1 and Case 2 as follow :
Case 1
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | |
Tuesday | Zoology |
Wednesdays | English |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | Mathematics |
Saturday | Botany |
Sunday |
Case 2
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | |
Tuesday | Botany |
Wednesdays | Mathematics |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | |
Saturday | Zoology |
Sunday | English |
Statistics is neither taught on Monday nor Sunday. According to this piece of information we eliminate the schedule we made in Case I because it is giving Monday and Sunday as Statistics teaching schedule which can’t be true.
So solution to this puzzle is as follow :
Days of Week | Subject |
Monday | Physics |
Tuesday | Botany |
Wednesdays | Mathematics |
Thursday | Chemistry |
Friday | Statistics |
Saturday | Zoology |
Sunday | English |
Answer to the first question i.e. Physics lecture is scheduled on : Monday.
